Policy Statement

EMG Associates (UK) Limited (“EMG”) is committed to delivering high-quality legal training and professional development programmes that meet the needs of legal practitioners, in-house counsel, corporate executives and other professionals working in legal and related fields.

Our approach to quality assurance is founded on professional expertise, academic and practical rigour, effective course design, participant engagement and continuous improvement. We aim to ensure that every programme is relevant, well-structured and professionally delivered, with learning outcomes that support the development of practical knowledge, analytical skills and professional competence.

1. Course Design and Learning Objectives

All EMG training programmes are designed with clear learning objectives and a defined professional purpose. Course content is developed with consideration of the subject matter, the intended audience, the level of prior knowledge required and the practical application of the topics covered.

Where appropriate, programmes incorporate case studies, practical exercises, legal analysis, drafting activities, scenario-based discussions and other interactive learning methods.

Course descriptions and promotional materials are intended to provide participants with clear information about the programme content, intended audience, learning objectives, format and any relevant prerequisites.

2. Trainer Selection and Professional Expertise

EMG seeks to engage trainers, presenters and subject-matter specialists whose qualifications, professional experience and expertise are appropriate to the subjects they deliver.

Trainer selection takes account of relevant legal or professional knowledge, practical experience, teaching and presentation capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to the intended audience.

EMG aims to ensure that course delivery reflects the professional standards expected by lawyers and other experienced participants.

3. Accuracy, Relevance and Currency of Content

EMG endeavours to ensure that course materials are accurate, relevant and appropriate to the stated learning objectives.

For programmes involving legislation, regulation, case law or professional practice, reasonable steps are taken to consider relevant developments and jurisdiction-specific requirements when preparing and updating course content.

Where a programme addresses multiple jurisdictions, differences in legal systems, regulatory frameworks and professional practices are identified and explained where relevant.

Participants should recognise that legal and regulatory requirements may change and that training materials do not constitute individual legal advice unless expressly agreed otherwise.

4. Course Delivery and Participant Experience

EMG is committed to providing a professional, respectful and supportive learning environment across its training formats, including classroom-based, online and bespoke in-house programmes.

Course delivery is intended to encourage participation, discussion and the practical application of knowledge. Trainers are expected to communicate learning objectives clearly, manage sessions professionally and respond appropriately to participants' questions within the scope of the programme.

EMG aims to provide participants with clear information about course arrangements, attendance requirements, learning materials and any relevant assessment or completion criteria before or during the programme, as appropriate.

5. Participant Feedback and Evaluation

Participant feedback is an important element of EMG's quality assurance process.

Where appropriate, feedback is collected through course evaluation forms, questionnaires, direct comments or discussions with participants and institutional clients. Feedback may address:

  • The relevance and quality of course content.

  • The trainer's subject knowledge and delivery.

  • The organisation and structure of the programme.

  • The usefulness of practical exercises and learning materials.

  • The achievement of stated learning objectives.

  • Opportunities for improvement.

Feedback is reviewed to identify strengths, recurring concerns and potential improvements. Appropriate action may include revising course materials, adjusting programme structure, improving administration or considering additional trainer support.

6. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

EMG is committed to reviewing and improving its programmes on an ongoing basis.

Quality assurance activities may include reviewing participant evaluations, considering developments in law and professional practice, monitoring trainer performance, reviewing course materials and evaluating the effectiveness of previous improvements.

Where concerns are identified, EMG seeks to determine appropriate corrective action and, where reasonably practicable, incorporate relevant findings into future programme delivery.

7. Complaints and Concerns

EMG takes complaints and expressions of concern about its training programmes seriously.

Participants and institutional clients are encouraged to raise concerns with EMG promptly so that the matter can be reviewed fairly and appropriately.

Complaints may relate to course content, delivery, administration, learning materials or other aspects of the participant experience. EMG will seek to understand the nature of the concern, consider the information available and determine an appropriate response.

Where necessary, corrective action may be taken to address an identified issue and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

8. Accessibility, Inclusion and Professional Conduct

EMG aims to foster a professional learning environment in which participants are treated fairly and respectfully.

Reasonable consideration will be given to accessibility requirements and appropriate learning arrangements, subject to the nature and format of the programme and applicable requirements.

Participants, trainers and other individuals involved in course delivery are expected to engage professionally and treat others with respect.

9. Certificates, Attendance and Learning Outcomes

Where certificates of attendance or completion are offered, their issue is subject to the applicable programme requirements and EMG's relevant administrative procedures.

Any attendance thresholds, assessment requirements or other conditions for receiving a certificate will be communicated where applicable.

Certificates confirm only the status stated on the certificate. They should not be interpreted as conferring a professional qualification, practising entitlement, academic award or external accreditation unless this is expressly and accurately stated.

Where continuing professional development (CPD) or continuing legal professional development (CLPD) recognition applies, the relevant arrangements and requirements will be communicated for the particular programme.

10. Responsibilities and Policy Review

EMG is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy and considering opportunities to strengthen the quality and consistency of its training provision.

This policy will be reviewed periodically and may be updated to reflect changes in EMG's programmes, professional expectations, applicable requirements and quality assurance practices.
