Where Knowledge Becomes Confidence

- WHO SHOULD ATTEND
For those who refuse to be "almost accurate"
This programme is for you if you are:
-
Negotiating English-language contracts for Arabic-speaking clients
-
Reviewing Arabic translations of complex commercial agreements
-
Translating pleadings or arbitration submissions
-
Advising international partners across legal systems
-
Building a career as a specialist legal translator
WHAT THIS IN NOT
This is not a language course and it is not a terminology workshop. It is a programme for practitioners who want to translate with legal precision, not literal instinct.
- THE SHIFT
Why This Programme Exists
01 Think legally in both English and Arabic, not just linguistically.
02 Identify conceptual, structural, and drafting risks that literal translation creates.
03 Translate with legal precision rather than literal instinct.
04 Draft bilingual clauses with greater confidence and control.
05 Strengthen your credibility and distinction in international legal practice.
- THE PROGRAMME
Five days. Five layers of practice.
Each day builds on the last — foundations to strategy, with case-based practical work every day.
DAY 1 - Thinking in Two Legal Systems
Focus: Before we translate words, we must understand the legal systems that produce them
DAY 2 - The Architecture of Legal English
Focus: To translate Legal English accurately, we must understand how it is constructed
DAY 3 - The Structure of Formal Arabic Legal Drafting
Focus: Formal Arabic legal drafting follows its own internal logic — it must be understood before it is translated
DAY 4 - High-Risk Clauses in Contracts
Focus: The true test of legal translation lies in clauses that allocate risk
DAY 5 - Bilingual Drafting & Professional Risk Control
Focus: Professional distinction lies in controlling meaning across languages — not merely converting text
- LEARNING APPROCH
Practical, Not Theoretical
The professionals attending this programme do not need more theory sitting on a shelf. They need sharper judgment they can take back into real decisions.
EMG Associates' training methodology is built around personalised learning and active engagement to develop each delegate's competence. Across the five days, participants engage in hands-on work designed to mirror the decisions and challenges they face in practice.
